Sales Manager – Pharmaceuticals

Job Summary:

The Sales Manager – Pharmaceuticals is responsible for leading and managing the company’s pharmaceutical sales operations in Iraq. The role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and distributors. The Sales Manager will supervise and develop the sales team to ensure business growth, compliance, and achievement of revenue targets.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and implement pharmaceutical sales strategies to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability objectives.
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities within Iraq’s healthcare sector.
  • Lead the preparation of annual and quarterly business plans with a focus on growth and innovation.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory updates to adapt business approaches accordingly.

2. Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of medical representatives and sales supervisors to ensure consistent high performance.
  • Set clear performance targets and provide guidance for skill development and career growth.
  • Foster a results-driven, ethical sales culture focused on customer value and compliance.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure seamless business execution.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
  • Represent the company in pharmaceutical congresses, medical conferences, and key negotiations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Pharmacist).
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical sales, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, sales operations, and market expansion.
  • Strong knowledge of the Iraqi pharmaceutical market, local regulations, and distribution channels.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
