Job Description
The Medical Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and clinics. The role focuses on executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and building long-term relationships with key medical stakeholders. This position requires strong product knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to achieve sales targets within assigned territories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Role-Specific Management
- Promote and position pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals.
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve assigned targets.
- Identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Communicate product benefits, clinical data, and competitive advantages clearly.
- Maintain accurate sales and visit records.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
- Adhere to ethical sales practices in line with industry regulations.
- Protect confidentiality of product and customer information.
- Organize/participate in conferences and product-related events.
2. Business Support & Improvement
- Build and strengthen relationships with doctors, pharmacists, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Provide insights on market dynamics and customer needs.
- Support the development of strategic sales plans through field intelligence.
- Ensure optimal coverage of the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular, structured visits to healthcare professionals and ensure optimal coverage of assigned territories.
- Provide customers with accurate product information, clinical data, and prescribing guidelines, while delivering professional presentations and demonstrations.
3. User Support & Training
- Stay updated on medical and scientific developments related to products.
- Deliver professional product presentations to healthcare professionals.
- Participate in company training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and remote detailing techniques.
- Fair command of English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in sales, marketing, or medical training.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel inside/outside Iraq.
